Wellness, Rest, and Reconnection: Our Upcoming Mother’s Day Retreat

Mother’s Day often arrives with good intentions and very little rest. Flowers, meals, and celebrations are lovely, but they rarely address the deeper fatigue many women carry into this time of year. What is missing is space: space to pause, to reset, and to be cared for rather than coordinating the care of others.

Sound familiar?

This is the concept behind the Costa Rica wellness retreat we are offering at The Point Luxury Villa this May.

The Art of Being – Women’s Wellness Retreat, will take place in Costa Rica from May 12 to 17, 2026.

Timed around Mother’s Day in Costa Rica, the retreat is designed for women traveling solo or with a close friend (or two), and for those who want to join a small, supportive group without the expectations of a traditional family holiday or a high-energy retreat schedule.

Our retreat is for women who do not need more stimulation or structure, but a space where well-being takes center stage.

WHY WELLNESS WORKS DIFFERENTLY IN COSTA RICA

Mother’s Day in Costa Rica beats to a totally different drum. Mornings arrive with warm air and birdsong rather than alarms and demanding kids or pets. Days are shaped by sunlight, ocean tides, and heightened energy levels. When you place wellness practices in this kind of setting, they stop feeling like add-ons and become a natural response to the environment.

At The Point, everything happens in one private place. You can move straight from a sound bath into the infinity pool, sit quietly with a coffee afterward, or take a nap without having to transition back into public spaces. That continuity matters more than most people can even imagine.

Costa Rica wellness practices tend to work more deeply and more effectively because the setting is so idyllic.

A WOMEN-ONLY RETREAT, OPEN TO SOLO TRAVELERS AND FRIENDS

This retreat is open to any woman who feels the pull to step away for a few days. Some guests will arrive on their own, others may come with a sister, a friend, or someone they trust to share the experience with. What unites the group is not who you arrive with, but why you came.

Mother’s Day in Costa Rica offers a natural pause in the year. It is a moment many women already associate with reflection and rest, whether or not they have children. Because many women spend much of their lives caring for others, and everyone deserves time to be cared for in return.

WHAT WILL THE RETREAT FOCUS ON?

The retreat focuses on practices that help your body slow down, settle, and feel more at ease.

Over the week, you’ll move through reiki, sound baths, breathwork, yoga, guided movement, and activation sessions, each one playing a different role.

Reiki and sound baths are about switching off the background noise and giving your nervous system a proper break. Breathwork and gentle movement help release the kind of tension that builds up without you even noticing, especially when life has been busy or demanding.

Yoga and activation sessions are calm and easy for everyone to partake in. They’re not workouts and they’re definitely not about pushing yourself. Instead, they’re there to get things moving again, improve how your body feels, and help you reconnect without leaving you wiped out or sore the next day.

Nothing is stacked back to back or designed to overwhelm you. Some sessions help you slow right down, others invite rest, and a few gently lift your energy again. You’re free to join what feels right and step back when you need space. There’s no pressure to do everything, and nothing is compulsory.

At our retreat, there is no sense of falling behind, and no pressure to participate simply for the sake of it. FOMO need not apply!

The retreat will be guided by Jessica Stone and Sophie Jaffe, both of whom bring years of experience working with women in the wellness sphere, focusing on movement and supporting the nervous system. Their approach is grounded and inclusive, and together, they guide the sessions with a strong emphasis on meeting people where they are. It’s an approach that works especially well for women who may be new to retreats, or who want depth without intensity.

Many guests may already be familiar with their work through their teaching, writing, and online presence, but what stands out most, to us, is their calm, attentive presence and the way they guide groups without pressure.

FOOD THAT MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD

Food will play an important role throughout the week because it is a pivotal part of overall well-being. Meals are nourishing, well-balanced, and prepared in-house, without rigidity or restriction. The aim is to ensure you feel your best and fueled every day, not heavy and tired.

ABOUT THE RETREAT EXPERIENCE

Over five nights, the retreat offers a calm, structured framework with plenty of space left open for spontaneity. Join us, and we promise you will feel held, not managed.

In short, you can expect:

  • Five nights’ accommodation at The Point Luxury Villa, a private estate at the point where two of Costa Rica’s best beaches meet.
  • A women-only retreat environment with a small group of 15.
  • Daily guided movement and activation sessions.
  • Reiki, breathwork, and sound-based practices.
  • A no-phone presence day to support deeper rest.
  • All meals included.
  • A private sunset catamaran cruise along the coast.
  • A closing sound bath and cacao ceremony aligned with the Taurus New Moon.
  • Daily support from our Concierge and Butler team.

Optional add-ons such as massages, spa treatments, surf lessons, or local excursions can be arranged separately if you feel drawn to them, but nothing is expected or required.

WHAT WILL YOUR RETREAT DAYS LOOK LIKE?

While the retreat has a clear structure, the days are intentionally easygoing. Mornings tend to start slowly and quietly here, and when was the last time you enjoyed that priceless experience? You’ll ease into movement and guided sessions in a very relaxing manner, so trust that we will not rush you from one thing to the next.

Afternoons are left open on purpose so you can follow your own energy levels. Lounge by the pool, head down to the beach, book a massage, or even a private surf lesson down on Tamarindo beach. You can also retreat to a private corner with that book you’ve been meaning to read since forever ago.

Our facilitators, Jessica and Sophie, have carefully tailored the days to balance perfectly. Many women arrive in Costa Rica feeling overstimulated or completely over-scheduled, and our retreat is designed primarily to support rest and rejuvenation. You certainly will not be expected to be “on,” social, or productive, unless you wish to be. Some moments will be shared, others will be far more private. The Point was originally designed to give both equal space, and the retreat will continue that ethos.

Another advantage of hosting our Costa Rica wellness retreat in a private villa is that the group will naturally spread out.

At The Point, there is room to be together without being crowded, and to be alone without feeling lonely.

LEAVE THE MENTAL LOAD BEHIND

As you start planning your trip, you’ll liaise directly with the villa’s Concierge and she’ll remain available throughout the retreat. Whether you have questions before arrival or want to adjust something during the week, support is always there.

Once at the villa, a private Butler will be there to do all that nitty-gritty background work, taking care of meals, arrivals, and the practical details that keep the days running smoothly. It means you don’t have to think about how things are organized or what’s coming next, and can stay present in the experience instead.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO MARK MOTHER’S DAY IN COSTA RICA

We are not promising transformation or life-changing breakthroughs. What this retreat offers is something quieter and often more lasting. A calmer nervous system, better-quality sleep, and a sense of clarity about what can be sustainable once you return home.

That kind of reset tends to travel with you long after you leave.

While this retreat brings everything together in a guided format, wellness at The Point isn’t limited to one week in May. Many of these practices can also be woven into private stays throughout the year, depending on what you need and how you’re feeling.

If Mother’s Day in Costa Rica has been calling to you this year, whether you are traveling on your own or with someone close, our Concierge team would be happy to talk you through The Art of Being – Women’s Wellness Retreat in more detail. We can share the full itinerary, pricing, and answer any practical questions so you can decide if this experience feels right for you.
